Q. I am a U-Haul Team member. I put in my SMID, but where do I find my password?

A. Your U-Haul University password is your HR password, the one you use to sign in to uhaullife.com. If you have forgotten your HR password, go to uhaullife.com, click on the “Change or Forgot Password?“ link and follow the on-screen directions.

If you are a new team member, go to uhaullife.com, click the "New Team Member" link, create your HR password and complete all onboarding tasks. Once you’ve done that, you should be able sign in to uhaulu.edu with your SMID and your HR password. If you have trouble with your password, please contact HR Services at 1-866-495-6745 or 1-623-239-3486. Their office hours are 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Phoenix time Monday-Friday and 6 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Phoenix time on Saturday.

Q. I am a U-Haul dealer. When I try to sign in to U-Haul U, I get an “invalid username or password” error. What do I need to do?

A. Make sure you are using your uhauldealer.com username and your uhauldealer.com password when you sign in to uhaulu.edu. If you still can’t sign in, contact your AFM for help with your uhauldealer.com username and password, or contact Field_operation_support@uhaul.com or 1-800-528-0361.

Q. When I sign in to uhaulu.edu, I get an error message that says the computer can’t determine which application I’m trying to sign in to. What do I do?

A. Use Google’s Chrome browser.

·       Type “uhaulu.edu” directly into the browser address bar instead of clicking on a link, then click the “Sign in” button once. If that doesn’t work, start over and hit the “Enter” button on your computer or the “Go” button on your mobile device…and try again. If that doesn’t work:

·       Clear the cookies from your browser.

o   In Google Chrome, click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of your browser window.

o   Select “More tools,” then “Clear browsing data.”

o   Set the time range to “All time” and check “Cookies and other site data.”

o   Click “Clear data.”

Type “uhaulu.edu” into the browser address bar and sign in again. It may take more than one try, so please try signing in every 30 to 60 minutes until you get in. If that doesn’t work, try signing in on a different computer. If you are still unable to sign in, email uhauluniversity@uhaul.com with details and a screen print of any error message(s) you get.

Q. I get an error when I try to log in on my iPad or iPhone.

A. Check to see what version of iOS you are running. If you are running anything less than iOS 13.3.1, please upgrade your OS.

Q. I have a new employee who started today, and they are not able to log into U-Haul University. Can you help?

A. When students sign in in to UHU, their credentials are verified through their parent database (HR, uhauldealer.com, movinghelp.com, or vendor.uhaul.com). If their profile is not complete in their parent database, they won’t be able to sign in UHU. Once they’ve completed their profile in their parent database, it may take a few hours (up to one day) for their profile to be verified in the parent database. Have the new student attempt to sign in throughout the day until they are able to sign in to UHU.

Q. I’ve been hired at U-Haul but have not started work yet. I have a System member ID (SMID) number but when I try to sign in to uhaulu.edu, I get an “Invalid username or password” error message. Why can’t I sign in to uhaulu.edu?

A. If you are a new-hire team member with a hire date different than your scheduled start date, go to uhaullife.com, click the "New Team Member" link, create your HR password and complete all onboarding tasks.

Q. I’m on a leave of absence and want to use my time to learn more about U-Haul by taking some U-Haul U courses. When I try to sign in to uhaulu.edu with my SMID and HR password, I get an “Invalid username or password” error message. I can sign in to uhaullife.com, so why can’t I sign in to uhaulu.edu?

A. When someone is on a leave of absence, they are moved into an inactive team member status. They are able to sign in to uhaullife.com to access their benefits information, but they are not able to sign in to work-related applications, like U-Haul University, until they return to work.

Q. I have taken a test and failed it, and am now locked out from taking it again. How do I get the test reset so that I can take it again?

A. If the course is a required course, a certification course (CT) or is part of a series of courses that makes up a certification, contact your manager and let them know that you did not pass. Your manager will need to contact the instructor and ask them to enable you to retake the course. If the instructor approves, they will either close your current registration or will give the U-Haul University administrator permission to do so.

If the course was voluntarily taken, i.e., not required, contact the instructor of the course and ask them to enable you to retake the course. The instructor will either close your current registration or will give the U-Haul University administrator permission to do so.

Q. How do I know which courses I’ve taken?

A. You can find your course information in your student profile. Click on the dropdown arrow next to the profile photo or photo placeholder and click “My profile.”

Q. I have a completion certificate for a course I’ve taken. Why doesn’t it show up as completed in my student profile or in the Personal Development Tracker on uhaul.net?

A. You either have not viewed a lesson or not completed a quiz in the course. The Status column in your student profile will indicate the number of lessons/quizzes you need to complete. By clicking on the course link, you will see which lessons/quizzes need to be completed. Once you complete all the lessons and quizzes, your course will show up as completed.
